Thanksgiving Family Fun

Sure, there was lots of grousing about taking a photo BEFORE they could eat turkey, but it's really good to have an extended family portrait nonetheless. This year, my mother, Dick, my brother Steven, wife Lee and daughters Beth and Kat- Quinn, my brother John and May Soon joined us for Thanksgiving. Jordan had his wisdom teeth removed just days before the festive event, but he was up to a full meal by Thursday. Josh and Emily also flew in from Colorado and Boston.

We were thankful to all be together this year!

Trip to Colorado

This last weekend was our whirlwind trip to Colorado to see Josh and Jordan. I left a few days early to paint in the mountains, then John joined me to drive between Colorado Springs and Carbondale to visit the guys. Here's a photo of Jordan wearing his new-ish sport coat that he purchased at a thrift store for $6. We left with a ton of clothes for both the guys for a grand total of $44. No, times aren't that hard, it's their new style (!).

Relatives at the Wedding

Here's a photo from the rehearsal dinner for Jamie's and Kevin's wedding last weekend. John, brother Richard and his wife Annie, Ken Pell (father of the bride), Margie Conroy (John's cousin), and me.

Elmhurst Museum Reception

Last night was the big Elmhurst Museum reception for the Mainstreet instructors show, and it was an incredible success! Each instructor hung 5 pieces, for a total of about 35 paintings. At least 150 people came, with some celebrities from the art world scattered among them. What a thrill. Brothers Steve and John along with Lee and May Soon were there, as well as friends Barbara and Howard Michael. Students old and new came out, which was quite touching. After the reception, family gathered at Francesca's for a late dinner. What an unforgettable evening.

The Dress

I see my best buddy from college one time a year, and this time when we showed up for dinner in Wisconsin, we were wearing the SAME DRESS! I'm still laughing. We always did have the same taste in clothes, but this is ridiculous!

We had a chance to stop by CC to see our other kid, too. Josh is in the middle of soccer tryouts and is sporting lots of facial hair-- Egad! His room is super-large but shall we say it could use a bit of organization?

Jordie's New School

This past weekend, John and I dropped Jordie off at Colorado Rocky Mountain School, his new home for a while. It's situated in a valley under Mt Sopris, and the stream pictured here is in the backyard. I want a do-over!

Tay's New Office

Jordie and I visited Tay in her new office in Boston before we took off for Cape Cod the next day. Along with Doug, we helped her pick out her new office space. Every floor had a bigger kitchen than we have at home!

This year's Feldman summer vacation was based in Mashpee, Cape Cod. Haley and Josh couldn't join us this year-- they were working! Emily and Doug spent the first weekend with us.
